BRC - Business Risk & Compliance

BRC supports any policy or checklist based audit and compliance function. Question based templates, defined by the business, are created to support the relevant business and audit checks, which are then scored according to the ratings applied to the questions. The system tracks the key findings and recommendations as a result of the check and prompts management both to comment on the findings and provide a completion date for the resulting actions. An executive report is automatically produced providing a ‘traffic light’ guide as to how the business function is performing as compared to the ‘best practice’ policy or checklist.

Further to this BRC provides the functionality to measure the business risk controls as identified in the firms risk register. The system supports regular reviews where the risks and controls in the register can be articulated, tested and scored. This includes linking to relevant working papers (word documents, excel spreadsheets, etc) and the creation of an action plan, which is subsequently tracked, where procedural gaps are identified. A standard executive report is produced for presentation to the relevant risk committee(s).
